An absolutely brilliant weekend. I loved the power of the Mini Max and having never driven it until Friday practice set out intending to treat the weekend as a learning opportunity.

Saturday came around and with it a change in weather. I’d never driven the Mojo wet before, so with just a warmup session to give it a go, was chuffed to stick it P6 in quali!!

The heats were a trial by fire - the more direct nature of the Mini drivers came as a shock in Heat 1, losing places to finish mid-pack, despite my lap times being top 5. After a DNF in heat 2 I found my groove, and held my own in Heat 3, was 3rd fastest on track finishing P7.

This saw me line up P17 for the superheat where I worked hard, and made up places finishing a respectable P10, again setting quick lap times. For the final I started on the outside in P14, and despite losing a couple of places on the opening lap, worked my way onto the tail of the lead group to finish inside the top 10 in P8 achieving the target I’d secretly set myself earlier in the weekend, which on this grid for my first ever drive in Mini felt like I’d won!

A great weekend as a team with Lucien, Joshua and Kai picking up tickets for the Grand Finals, which will also be my final race in Micromax.

Big thanks as always to KR-Sport Junior team for their tireless work all weekend, and KR-Engines for the waft!
